Ponies For Life & Fauna are Wild For A Cure!

Relay For Life season has officially begun and starting this Thursday February 12 and every Thursday until June 11, from 7pm-9pm SLT, Fauna will start hosting Themed Costume Contests with DJ Nuku kindly taking donations for the American Cancer Society and our team, Ponies For Life, in lieu of tips. Contest Prize total for each night will be L$1,500 for the top 3 voted winners divided as such: L$225 for 3rd place (15%), L$525 for 2nd place (35%), and L$750 for 1st place (50%). And while our friends and relay team dance and skate the night away in our costumes, we hope to reach our weekly fundraising goals so we can proudly take our place among the Platinum teams again on Relay Weekend in June as we have for the past 3 years in a row!!!

Welcome Back, Rin!

In days of Fauna past, Rin Elyran (zarudin) brought his rocking, rolling, synthwaving and epically uplifting variety of music to the eager ears of our community! And now we can enjoy his electric and eclectic entertainment once again every Friday night from 7pm – 9pm SLT (Pacific) under his brand new disk jockey identity, DJ Rinbeast! Please join us in welcoming this fox and his foxy (and husky) family back to Fauna!

Fauna Joins Fish Hunt!

As some of you have already noticed, The Wharf at Fauna has undergone a little bit of an update! We’ve officially joined Fish Hunt, the grid’s most popular Linden dollar earning fishing game. We plan to hold regular monthly (possibly even weekly) “Multiplier Events” and these tend to draw in very large crowds, so please keep your rods at the ready for these events in the future!

If you visit The Wharf today, you’ll also notice our newest advertising opportunity! Six new Ad Boards have been posted in the area for advertising your business, services, personals, or whatever else you’d like to advertise at the cost of L$50 per week. Detailed setup instructions for the Ad Boards can be received from the CaspetLet Rental Meter’s “Info” button or viewed here.

When we planned and built the region back in 2020-2021, we designed The Wharf specifically with fishing games in mind, but we couldn’t settle on which fishing game until recently. 🙂 And I understand that some of you have your reservations about arbitrary traffic inflation using systems like this in Second Life. But please understand that it does bring new residents to the region who would otherwise not know about us, so we very much appreciate your understanding and will take every precaution to make sure that this new addition does not interfere with our community and current events. It’s also just plain silly fun if you enjoy people-watching! Such a wide variety of residents play this game, so it is a treat to see the diversity in avatars that come visit during the events!

And if you’ve never played Fish Hunt and you’re interested in earning a little bit of Linden, I do recommend picking up a FREE Beginner rod to try it out! We’ll do our best to keep the buoy funds topped up so you can keep earning too! 😁

Roller Skating Resumes March 4!

Moonlight Rollerway will thaw by Tuesday, March 4th! We will give our ice skates a rest until next winter and get back to our regularly scheduled Tuesday Night roller skating! This season has been super chill (and chilly!!) and while Fauna remains cool all year round we are very much looking forward to Spring again. 😎

Ice Skating Begins Nov. 26th!

Moonlight Rollerway will freeze over starting Tuesday, November 26th. (The week of American Thanksgiving, which is on the 28th.) So pull your ice skates out of storage and get ready to slip and slide across the ice! Please keep your eyes on our Discord and/or Bluesky for upcoming costume contest themes.

Relay For Life & Skate Night

This season started with a bang back in February and we’ve teamed up with Ponies For Life again to do our part in FUNraising for The American Cancer Society! Each weekly Tuesday night skate party that we’ve hosted this season has held a goal to raise at least L$10,000 and we have not yet missed the mark!

Best in Disco themed Skate Night. April 16, 2024

At the end of March we began holding themed contests as more incentive to reach that L$10k goal to keep the FUN in fundraising going and it has been a blast! The prizes for the Top 3 winners is set to L$750 for 1st, L$525 for 2nd, and L$225 for 3rd for a total prize pool of L$1,500. So far we’ve done these themes: 80s, Sweets, Nature, Disco, and Business, and next Tuesday (April 30th) will be best in Sports! Come on by, bring your wallet for a good cause, and roller skate the night away in your best sports themed costume! The fun starts at 7pm SLT (Pacific!)
